Advantage ll for Kittens 2pk
PRESENTATION WAS CHANGED FROM 4 TO 2 MONTHS BY MANUFACTURER.
Young kittens are especially vulnerable to flea infestations. For newborn kittens with fleas, use a flea comb and a bath with gentle soap. Once the kitten is 8 weeks old, Advantage II is an effective treatment for the removal of fleas and also to prevent future breeding. The dangers of fleas are especially critical in kittens. In addition to flea allergy dermatitis, which can cause intense itching, hair loss and skin infections, the animal is also susceptible to tapeworms. Of particular concern with kittens is feline infectious anemia. This is caused by the destruction of red blood cells, and can be fatal.
The active ingredients in Advantage II are imidacloprid and pyriproxyfen. The first will kill 98-100 percent of adult fleas within 12 hours of being applied. The second is an insect growth regulator. It prevents flea eggs from hatching, which stops the breeding life cycle. These two together give your pet complete protection from fleas. In addition, it's waterproof and will continue to work even if your cat gets wet. This particular preparation is formulated for kittens under 5 pounds.
Advantage II is a monthly flea preventative for cats that offers comprehensive flea protection by killing adult fleas, larvae, and eggs. It also treats, prevents, and controls lice on dogs. Advantage II does not kill ticks.
Each box contains a 4 month treatment.

How it works:The first active ingredient is imidacloprid, which acts on the nervous system of the flea to cause paralysis and subsequent death. Within 12 hours of application, 98-100 percent of fleas are dead. The second active ingredient, pyriproxyfen, is an insect growth regulator. Once a female flea lays her eggs, pyriproxyfen works to prevent the eggs from hatching, ending the flea life cycle.
