What is Capstar Flea Control for Dogs?
Capstar Flea Control for Dogs is a tablet used to kill fleas on dogs and cats, which begins working within 30 minutes. Capstar will kill more than 90% of adult fleas within 4 hours on dogs and 6 hours on cats, and pets may temporarily scratch as a result of the fleas dying. Capstar is not a preventive. It is best used with Program Tablets (dogs/cats) or Program Liquid (cats only) to also prevent future flea infestations.

Dogs and puppies, 4 weeks of age and older and 2 pounds of body weight or greater.
How does Capstar Flea Control for Dogs?
CAPSTAR Flea Control for Dogs kills adult fleas and are indicated for the treatment of flea infestations on dogs, puppies, cats and kittens 4 weeks of age and older and 2 pounds of body weight or greater. A single dose of CAPSTAR Flea Control for Dogs should kill the adult fleas on your pet. If your pet gets re-infested with fleas, you can safely give another dose as often as once per day. To give CAPSTAR Flea Control for Dogs, place the pill directly in your pet's mouth or hide it in food. If you hide the pill in food, watch closely to make sure your pet swallows the pill. If you are not sure that your pet swallowed the pill, it is safe to give a second pill. Treat all infested pets in the household. Fleas can reproduce on untreated pets and allow infestations to persist.

INGREDIENT(S): CAPSTAR Flea Control for Dogs contains 11.4 (for dogs and cats 2-25 lbs) or 57.0 mg (for dogs over 25lbs) of nitenpyram, which belongs to the chemical class of neonicotinoids. Nitenpyram kills adult fleas.
CAPSTAR Flea Control for Dogs may be used together with other products, including heartworm preventives, corticosteroids, antibiotics, vaccines, de-worming medications, shampoos and other flea products.
